*dismounts and sits by flory. rumages around in her bag and finds an apple, which she cleans with an inside patch of her cloak and munches quietly.* what shall we do... when jack gets back, i mean? sneak past, attack...?

We need to get across the river Isen. I don't think we can get away with sneaking past, especially with the horses. So it looks like we're going to have to attack. We need to establish how many orcs are on the outpost.

Hmmm, from what I can see down there in the dark, there are at least fifty tents down in there. Maybe we should try to cross the river somewhere else? Right now Isengart doesn't know we're heading for Gondor. If we attack here, it would be like yelling this at Saruman. Especially if any witnesses survive. On the other hand, we should avoid loosing time by going on unnecessary detours. What do you think, any ideas?

I think we should head upstream and try to find a more sheltered place to cross. The last thing we want is to get Isengard involved in this battle.

*uncrosses her legs and fidgets with the apple core.* i don't like the idea of attacking. the odds are stacked against us, and though i know we have good fighters, i wouldn't count on pulling a battle off. i'm for crossing elsewhere; if we carry on under cover of the woods, we could look for the first unguarded place and dash over.

* Gets up* This is dangerous territory we are in, and I don't think we should linger unneccessarily. If we decide to cross the river further along, then I say we go now and waste no more time here.

*Nods* Even if there isn't another unguarded ford, we should try to sneak over somewhere else.

Let's go. There should be at least an hour before full daylight. *Turns back into the forest.* Let's try a more westward direction. It will put a bit more distance between us and Isengart and it's not on a direct route between them and Gondor.

*halts.* good point. rhia, d'you think he'd be able to find us? or shall we wait, or should one of us go back?

*Grins.* Don't worry. He's a ranger. He'll find us.

I don't think anymore of us should get seperated. Surely he'll follow the horses tracks as far as the river anyway.

uh... what if he's not the only one who could follow our tracks?
