Ahead the woods are thining out. Sheaths sword and remounts, waits for the rest of the group to do the same. The path widens and we follow it for a mile or so at a steady trot. We move quickly and silently. The horses hooves muffled by the peaty earth. The riders are quiet, contemplating what lies ahead. The path rises up to a ridge and below we can clearly see the camp.

Merlin why don't you catch us up? We seem to be a little short of warriors on this trip.

We just need to get into the camp below. But I'm not sure what's the best way to go about it.

*Climbs a tree. In the light of the fire she can see the orcs clearly. apparently, they didn't notice the Rivendell warriors approaching. She climbs down to the ground again.* It seems the scouts were right. There are ten orcs down there. One has a crude white hand painted over his face. The palisade wall isn't very high and not carefully build. They didn't clear the forest around it, so we can sneak right up to the camp. And we have the advantage of surprise. On the other hand, if we want some information, we will have to catch some orcs alive. This might be the difficult part. Maybe we can set up a trap?

Jack's right. The orcs would rather die then talk. *sits astride her horse, looking down at the camp, as if searching for some inspiration* The only choice we have is to storm the camp. Unless.....................one of us sneaks down there to see if they can overhear anything.

*Smiles* One of the reasons why we sure need powerful wizards here, too. Maybe if we'll apply it to the orc captain, we can get something useful...

this may not work...i mean you can say the truth in a very general way, misleading way, or just not say anything at all. i mean you can't make a person talk....he'll just refuse to talk and that is the truth! but we can try. what do you need merlin and i'll see if i can get it

*rides off across the southern slope, in the opposite direction of the camp, canters out of the trees onto a sunny open plain which looks like an ideal spot for several of the plants she has to find. Straight away spots the bright foilage of the asparagus fern, picks a stem, making sure not to take the root. Close by there is some painted nettle. Leads horse to the edge of the trees where there is dappled light, looks for Bromiliads, there is a plentiful supply. Wanders deeper into the woods looking for the cast iron plant, aspidistra elatior - the last plant on her list."
